Trackday support at the circuit breaks down into 5 key
areas:
Free tuition – Expert advice from dedicated
instructors is on hand all day every day. We have a tuition booking
service that allows you to book tuition in advance (when you arrive
at the circuit); so you know exactly when and where to meet your
instructor. This ensures that you can actually get some tuition
if you want it, which we think is much better than simply having
instructors available (or not!) on a first come first served basis
at the beginning of each session.
We only use patient, articulate, and experienced instructors
with a serious racing pedigree (our senior instructor is several
times national champion in various classes), and our instructors
get paid as well… that is to say that we do not use unpaid
“volunteers” who are often more interested in getting
free track time than they are in actually helping people to learn
and improve.
Free novice classroom sessions - Classroom sessions
for the novice group are available at each of our trackdays. The
classrooms are not compulsory, so if you'd rather go for a coffee
or whatever, that's no problem. Classrooms are of around 30 minutes
duration and they take place in between the novice group track
sessions so that you don't miss out on any track time. There is
one classroom session each day, and they cover topics such as
adapting your riding technique for the track, correct body positioning,
track knowledge, etc.
Private tuition - As with
most things, a bit of expert tuition from someone who knows,
and has years of experience, can certainly help you to improve.
So for riders of all levels (from novice to racer) that
want to improve rapidly, we offer private tuition from our
senior instructor Ian Cobby, and from 5 times British champion
Ian Simpson.
Ian Cobby raced for 16 years (including BSB & World
Endurance), has won several national championships, and
has been a professional instructor since 1995. Currently
he works as a test rider, and exclusively in Spain for us
as a track day instructor.
Ian Simpson also works exclusively for us as a track day
instructor, and is 3 times British Superbike champion, as
well as twice winner at the Isle of Man TT.
Both have an in depth knowledge of bike setup & trackcraft,
so they can help you to improve much more than just your
riding technique.

We've helped lots riders over the years, and many have learned
more in 2 hours with us than they have in 2 or 3 days at a superbike
or race school. Hard to believe? Well, here's just one example...
Phil Brooks was running in the fast group at Almeria and was already
an accomplished track day rider, but he booked 2 hours private
tuition just see if he could learn something new. Phil arrived
an hour late for his tuition, so he only had 1 hour with the instructor,
but he needn't have worried; within 30 minutes he was 6 seconds
a lap faster! And remember, Phil was already pretty quick before
he started, so the 6 second gain is all the more impressive. After
his tuition, Phil had this to say... "The instructor instantly
identified my 3 weakest points, explained how to improve them
in terms I could understand, demonstrated what he had just explained,
and then asked me to do the same. Bingo! The seconds tumbled off
my lap times with ease. It's the best hundred quid I've ever spent;
far better value and return on your money that any amount of bolt
on performace parts."
So if you’ve been looking for instructors that can do more
than just talk fast, you’ve found them. Private or small
group tuition starts from £99 (contact us for more info).
Tyres – We have a
experienced and fully equipped mechanics on hand to fit
tyres and/or remove and refit wheels.
We do keep a small stock of tyres at the track in the most
common 120/70/17 front and 180/55/17 rear sizes, but we
strongly recommend that you order what you need well in
advance. Click on the TYRES button at the top of the screen
to view our very competitive prices, but please be aware
that the tyres you want may not be in stock, so make sure
you place your order as possible and at least 2 weeks before
the event to give us the best chance of getting what you
want.

Free of charge

£10 per rim
• New valves: £2 per rim
• Wheel removal & refitting: £10 per rim
| Mechanical support – Factory-trained
mechanics with several years’ race team experience
attend every event. We are fully equipped with tools and
lots of “get you out of trouble” spares etc.
It is not possible for us to stock spares for every type
of bike, and we obviously cannot repair a write-off or a
basket case at the circuit, but if the damage is fairly
light, more often than not we can get you going again.

Bike hire – See BIKE HIRE for details.
Photographs - A professional photographer attends
our trackday events, and photos can be purchased during the event,
or afterwards, direct from the photographer. This service is subject
to the availability of a suitable photographer, but it is very
rare that one does not attend. Photos are usually uploaded onto
the photographer's website within 5 working days of each event.
If you would like to view photos or contact the photographer,
please visit www.britishsportphotography.com
Artist's impressions
- If you fancy something a bit special, we can now provide
full colour artist's impressions of you and your bike. Simply
email Track Sense with a good quality digital photo and
your contact details, and we'll do the rest. The artist
will produce an 18" x 14" (45cm x 35cm) pastel
painting using the photo you supply, and this will be sent
to you (fully insured) in the post. Each pastel takes around
2 days to produce, but please allow 1 month for delivery
(just in case the artist is busy).
Pastels cost £249 incl. VAT each, and are supplied
in a mount. Framing is available at an extra cost of £40,
but because the frame (and in particular, the glass) is
easily damaged in the post, we strongly recommend that you
arrange to have the pastel framed locally.
