almeria local area . . .

ALMERIA DETAILS | ALMERIA LOCAL AREA | ALMERIA WEATHER | ALMERIA HOTEL

The circuit itself is actually located in a desert region some 35km north of the coastal town of Almeria. As the circuit is in a desert, it won’t surprise you to learn that it is actually the driest circuit in Europe. In fact, the skies in the area surrounding the circuit tend to be so clear that both a solar power station and an observatory have recently been built nearby.

Most of you will be more familiar with the local area than you might at first think, as this desert was the location where many of the Spaghetti Westerns were filmed.

The downside of a circuit that is located in a desert is that it is pretty much in the middle of nowhere! At Mini Hollywood just along the road there is a mock-up of a western town to visit, but that’s about it! Almeria town is actually a fairly lively area, an the nearby coastal resorts of Aguadulce and Roquetas de Mar boast sandy beaches, shops, a marina complex, and numerous bars & restaurants.
